Security sources in Kirkuk, Tuesday, reported that the leadership of the advanced headquarters in Kirkuk prevented rising flag of Kurdistan in mixed places in the disputed province, where the Kurds celebrate the day of the flag.
The sources said that the leadership prevented today the raising of the Kurdistan flag at the University of Kirkuk, as well as in schools and mixed places of nationalities in the province to prevent frictions.
The source added that the Kurdish schools and areas with a Kurdish majority witnessed the raising of the flag of Kurdistan and the celebration of this occasion naturally.
The occasion to revive the Kurdistan Flag Day after the events of October 16, 2017 witnessed tensions between the Kurds and the rest of the other nationalities after raising the flag in some places, including the University of Kirkuk.
