Bernard-Henri Lévy film “Peshmerga” returns to the Quad Cinema

Showing February 1-2

In 2015, French philosopher Bernard-Henri Lévy travelled to the front lines of ISIS, seeking first-hand understanding of the ongoing conflict. With unprecedented access and disarming immediacy, Lévy and a small team of cameramen journey across the 650 miles separating Iraqi Kurdistan from ISIS troops. The Kurdish fighters he encounters share unforgettable stories and show unfailing determination in their fight against jihadi fundamentalism.

Now, ten years later, with the recent collapse of the Assad regime, new leadership in Syria and a rapidly shifting Middle East landscape, the war against ISIS still rages and the Kurds are, more than ever, on the front line of this fight for freedom.

Lévy’s Peshmerga is an unprecedented view of a war whose stakes are of global importance, and a reminder why the Kurds still need international support.
