An attack by Turkish air force on a civilian car near Kobani northeast Syria, left at least one dead and two injured.
Local sources said that the attack was carried out by a Turkish drone this evening near the village of Karanful, between Kobani and Tal Abyad, which left at least 1 dead and 2 wounded, all from the same family.
Kobani’s hospital reported that the injured victims were transferred to Manbij hospitals due to their critical situation.
Turkish artillery shelling were recorded in the same area during the past 24 hours, despite the ceasefire agreements between Erdogan and American vice president Mike Pence on October 17, and between Erdogan and Russian president Vladimir Putin on October 22.
Kurds fear that these attacks may lead to another incursion into the city of Kobani. Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdogan has repeatedly threatened to head towards the iconic city in a move that has a great strategic importance due to its location in the middle between the newly occupied city of Tal Abyad and the city of Jarablus, in addition to its great moral significance for the fierce resistance it showed to ISIS which marked the first action of alliance between People’s Protection Units (YPG) and the International Coalition led by the U.S.
Turkish army and Turkey-backed Free Syrian Army have carried out several attacks on civilian targets in that region since the beginning of “Operation Peace Spring” on October 9 this year.
These Turkish attacks have killed 478 and wounded 1070 civilians, while causing the displacement of more than 300,000 persons, according to a report issued by the Humanitarian Affairs office in the autonomous local government.
