This statement was resoundingly important for Kurdistan and its friends, especially after the betrayal on the part of the international community. The October attack on Kirkouk, the invasion of Shi’a militias and the blockade have been reasons for sorrow but the event of November 28, 2017 evoked much emotion in the grand chamber of the United Nations. It was a moment of hope.
