On January 18, 2017, Bernard-Henri Lévy’s documentary Peshmerga premiered as the centerpiece film of the New York Jewish Film Festival. Two sold-out screenings followed by question and answer sessions were attended by General Sirwan Barzani, Staff Brigadier General Hajar Ismail, Representative Bayan Sami Abdul Rahman, writer Salman Rushdie, philosopher Michael Walzer, ADL President Jonathan Greenblatt and many New York cultural and media personalities.
